This is a Crabcake from The Maryland Crabs! What is a Crabcake? Well, it's a very short snippet of something you need to know. It might be 5 minutes long..or it might be 20. In any event, enjoy your Maryland Crabcake!
This year, the Annapolis Film Festival has a "Shorts Challenge"
which will happen at Maryland Hall on Saturday the 24th at 10am. It
is somewhat American Idol-esque in that there are filmmakers who
have competed to be on the stage and to be judged by a panel of
experts!
The catch--the audience gets to vote too.
Listen to 6 filmmakers pitch their idea for a short film and the
best one will be awarded a fantastic production and post-production
package and a slot in the 2019 Annapolis Film Festival.
We spoke to three of filmmakers who have made it to the final
round. First up--Jessica Jacklin
WOMAN - JESSICA JACKLIN
Jessica is a Maryland native living in Brooklyn with a somewhat
autobiographical film about a woman suffering from endometriosis.
The film "Woman" takes you through the highs and the lows of
reproductive health and allows her to inject her own experiences as
well.
In addition, we talk about what winning will mean to her, and also
about another short she has that will also be showing at the
festival!
