Louise Kirk and Chandra Jackson are warriors!
Both of them are breast cancer survivors (Louise, 5 years and
Chandra for 15) and both of them paddle with the Annapolis Dragon
Boat Club!
In this episode (John thinks it is one of the most powerful
episodes) we talk about sobering statistics (1 in 8 women will be
affected). We discuss why African American women are more likely to
die from it. And we talk about paddling and how it helps men and
women recover.
But the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club is a lot more than helping
survivors rebuild their strength. It's about community,
camaraderie, family, and surviving!
We purposely missed Breast Cancer Awareness month by a day -- we
should be aware of it every month--not just October!
Come along with us for a dragon boat ride for the next 50 minutes
and see if you don't agree--one of the most powerful episodes!
